About The Program
Wildlife Neighbors is a no-cost, informal STEM education program for middle school students (grades 6-8) living in the Detroit area.
The program moves through 8 modules that follow the scientific process, provide hands-on research experience, and offer participants the opportunity to contribute to research happening in their city.
- Contribute to urban ecology research!
- Get hands-on science experience!
- Conduct your own research project!
- Explore the connections between wildlife & your neighborhood!
Join Wildlife Ecologists at Yale University in uncovering the secret life of urban wildlife in your backyard!
The Applied Wildlife Ecology (AWE) Lab is a diverse team with a passion for carnivores, conservation, and community. Our work focuses on the relationship between carnivores, their prey, and the ever changing environment.
At the AWE Lab, we believe that authentic, rigorous research can only be accomplished with the involvement and support of the community. This is where you come in. We need your help to guide and add to the research happening in your backyard.
